Consultants of Genetics Society of Thailand
Consultants of GST are former presidents or previous executive directors of GST, together with those who demonstrate outstanding performance in genetics and management and are willing to be part of GST.
Roles of consultants of Genetics Society of Thailand- Provide advice, comments and recommendations to the President and executive directors of GST.
- Provide support and promote the operations and activities of GST.
- Occasionally attend meetings with executive directors or committees of GST.
- From time to time, attend seminars and conferences of GST and its network.
- Occasionally attend general meetings of GST.
- Promote the activities, performance and image of GST to the public.
Executive directors of Genetics Society of Thailand
The board of executive directors of GST manage the society on behalf of the members. This board is composed of a president elected by society members, vice president, secretary, and committee members selected by the president. Executive directors serve for 2 years, volunteering their expertise in genetics, conducting activities for GST and Thai society without any remuneration, allowances, compensation or benefits in terms of assets.
Roles of Executive directors of Genetics Society of Thailand- Manage GST according to the regulations and mission of GST, and carry out decisions of the board of executive directors.
- Attend GST executive director meetings as appointed and following the agenda.
- Provide information, comments and recommendations during GST executive directors meetings.
- Act as chair-person or committee member of GST network divisions or GST teams.
- Operate activities according to the decisions of the board.
- Support the operations and activities of executive directors and network divisions.
- Coordinate between executive directors and external individuals and organizations.
- Represent GST in coordination with external individuals and organizations according to the board’s decisions.
- Promote the activities, performance and image of GST to the public.
Assistant committee of Genetics Society of Thailand
Assistant committee members have a high level of education and expertise in genetics, They volunteer their expertise, conducting activities for GST and Thai society without any remuneration, allowances, compensation or benefits in terms of assets.
Roles of Assistant Committee of Genetics Society of Thailand- Support the management of GST according to the regulations and mission of GST, and carry out decisions of the board of executive directors.
- Attend GST executive director meetings as appointed, following the agenda.
- Provide information, comments and recommendations during GST executive directors meetings.
- Act as committee member of GST network divisions.
- Operate activities according to the decisions of the board.
- Support the operations and activities of executive directors and network divisions.
- Represent GST in coordination with external individuals and organizations according to the board’s decisions.
- Promote the activities, performance and image of GST to the public.
Network Committee of Genetics Society of Thailand
GST is managed and operated according to a network structure in which executive directors are qualified and expert in the same field as the president. The network committee can comprise both GST members and non-members.
Roles of Network Committee of Genetics Society of Thailand- Attend Network Committee meetings as appointed, following the agenda.
- Manage and conduct academic activities of GST networks.
- Identify and recruit candidates with academic qualifications, knowledge, experience and expertise relevant to the network. Promote qualified candidates to be members of the committee or network.
- Publish academic articles in the Thai Journal of Genetics.
- Act as expert and review submission of academic articles to the Thai Journal of Genetics, presentations at the National Conference on genetics (held every two years) or other GST academic conferences.
- Publish articles in genetics or related fields to the public.
- Summarise activities of the network and report in the GST executive directors meetings.
